Views from a Tax Payer

Contributed by a subscriber, Thanks BRJ!! This is a great read, agree or not. See how Americans are seething.

=================
Ah and where are the petitions to enforce drug testing and birth control for anyone on state/federal aid.

Why should I pay for more babies ( 8 to 1 lady recently) than people can care for when I can barely afford 1 myself?
Why should I pay for people to sit back and do drugs while I have to work my butt off when I want to just sit back and relax myself?

What do these petitions get us? An email box full of mail that may or may not ever get to someone in politics that would even take the time to open it, never mind read it.

Our government is too busy screwing up the nation because they “supposedly” are listening to the select few who need everything.

How dare you give $13 a week - oh wait, I make too much I won’t even get that - then raise gas taxes so I pay it right back.

How dare you say you are giving billions of dollars in a Stimulus Package, only to stipulate how the money is used, which in turn is only good for 2 years and will cost states an unbelievable amount of their own funds when the 2 years is over to maintain what you insist they start.

How DARE you give my money to an illegal immigrant who should have no rights in this country - send them home or shoot them for trespassing. (Example: In AZ a group of illegal immigrants sued a ranch owner because he tried to move them off his property. He didn’t lose the case, only the $100,000 in legal fees - illegal immigrants have NO RIGHT to sue anyone in this country and certainly no right to my social security or SSI.)

Why do we send our money to other countries in “donations” when we can’t feed our children here at home? Why do we adopt children from other countries when we have children here that need a home? How dare we think we have the right to step into another culture and enforce our laws and practices - while our own nation is falling apart? How DARE anyone use the name of GOD to kill another person?

Let socialism rule this land, it becomes prime picking for China who is secretly sitting back and watching as we crumble our own economy. They are silently taking over - look to the owners of large corporations, those silent partners, and the amount of imports we get from them. They are intelligent, patient people.

It is not only our governments responsibility to cure our nation. Our nation has become one that looks to receive handouts rather than work hard, expect money to come to them for nothing in return, standardize “poor” to mean a 3 BR home with 2 TVs, cable, running water, and heat. These are luxuries. Of course the illegal immigrants are taking our jobs - they are willing to work hard for they know where they come from can not offer what we have here. These are not just the Mexicans that do our manual labor for us that I speak of. Legal immigrants from India and other countries are educating themselves and come here to work in our technology fields for the same reason - they work hard and have less at home than here.
Why are we not teaching our children the value of education and educating our children better?

When money is cut - 1 of the primary costs it is cut from is education. We proliferate the cycle by not educting ourselves.

When you try to give everyone everything, everyone gets nothing - we will all end up poorer because the poor “deserve” more.

  • Lust - excessive thoughts or desires of a sexual nature - our children are having sex at 8!!!
  • Gluttony - the over-indulgence and over-consumption of anything to the point of waste - Use up those natural resources and do not recycle, we are killing our own world!
  • Greed - This includes disloyalty, deliberate betrayal, bribery, scavenging, hoarding, theft, robbery or treason: all for personal gain associated with material goods. Example: if you can’t afford a house - you shouldn’t own one - rent, live with family, get a job!! Be happy with what you have but always strive for better.
  • Sloth - melancholy: apathy, depression, and joylessness derived from the failure to utilize one’s talents and gifts. aka Laziness - We all have skills or we wouldn’t be here -contribute to our world! Be happy you breathe each day and make the most of every one of them!
  • Wrath - inordinate and uncontrolled feelings of hatred and anger. Get over racism, white people kill and steal and do drugs too! It is not racism it is about lack of education - and Greed!! I don’t care what color my president is, he or she better do their job to protect me and MY WAY OF LIFE AS I HAVE EARNED IT!
  • Envy - resent that another person has something they perceive themselves as lacking, and wish the other person to be deprived of it. Democrats!
  • Pride - desire to be more important or attractive than others. The US - good to have some, but we are no better than any other country for some of the things we do.

Everyone on this earth is trying to live to the best of their means. Some fall prey to these 7 deadly sins more than others. I am guilty in some respects. These are not only religious in nature, but attest to our everyday living for all people.
I am thankful everyday for what I have, for I realize I could have much less, and that it can disappear at any moment. But I have worked hard to get here and continue to work hard to keep it.

My voice goes on unheard, my wrath does grow as those in power continue to make poor decisions that impact me, only kept at bay by the hope I have in raising an educated child that will help improve the world in some way.
Yes I rarely respond, and this just scratches the surface, especially to politically charged emails, but I am afraid of what is to come…Very Afraid!

Good Sense dismissed as a rant lit a national fire

Here in all its glory is what launched and inspired the Tea Party Movement. Dismissed as a "rant" by the punditry. It is truth, reason and sense that the administration and Congress can't and won't answer

HeeHaw - Listen to the Donkey Lie

An this man is Governor of a huge State
Listening to Ed Rendell on FNS (Fox News Sunday) is nauseating due to the glibness of his bald faced lies. I could rip up Granholm (D-MI) and Pawlenty (R-MN) too but Rendell's lying to a national audience is just revolting.
Lie number 1 - "We are rewarding the Banks who's fault this whole problem is". It is the Federal Government's fault by coercing by huge penalties banks into changing their lending practices. Here it is laid out quite clearly.
Lie number 2 (and he repeated it) - Virtually all economists, liberal and conservative, agree that these bailouts are necessary. This just shows how politicians insulate themselves. Do these 200 fall out of his consideration? Oh no, here are even more economists opposed.

And the media wonders curiously why so many people don't trust government.

Food for the minds of thinking people

Recommended Quotations favored by Thomas Sowell

...I wish that I may never think the smiles of the great and powerful a sufficient inducement to turn aside from the straight path of honesty and the convictions of my own mind.
--David Ricardo

The study of history is a powerful antidote to contemporary arrogance. It is humbling to discover how many of our glib assumptions, which seem to us novel and plausible, have been tested before, not once but many times and in innumerable guises; and discovered to be, at great human cost, wholly false.
--Paul Johnson

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.
-- T. S. ELiot

There is no safety for honest men but by believing all possible evil of evil men.
--Edmund Burke

...you can never be happy and dress yourself solely in the glass of other men's approval.
--Nicholas Flood Davis

If I could think that I had sent a spark to those who come after I should be ready to say Goodbye.
--Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes

We shall not grow wiser before we learn that much that we have done was very foolish.
-- F. A. Hayek

You know, doing what is right is easy. The problem is knowing what is right.
--Lyndon B. Johnson

The first thing a man will do for his ideals is lie.
--Joseph A. Schumpeter

Civilization is not inherited; it has to be learned and earned by each generation anew; if the transmission should be interrupted for one century, civilization would die, and we should be savages again.
--Will and Ariel Durant

Certainly, it is a world of scarcity. But the scarcity is not confined to iron ore and arable land. The most constricting scarcities are those of character and personality.
--William R. Allen

The task of weaning various people and groups from the national nipple will not be easy. The sound of whines, bawls, screams and invective will fill the air as the agony of withdrawal pangs finds voice.
--Linda Bowles

This war was a revolution against the moral basis of civilization. It was conceived by the Nazis in conscious contempt for the life, dignity and freedom of individual man and deliberately prosecuted by means of slavery, starvation and the mass destruction of noncombatants' lives. It was a revolution against the human soul.
--Time, May 14, 1945

The gods mercifully gave mankind this little moment of peace between the religious fanaticisms of the past and the fanaticisms of class and race that were speedily to arise and dominate time to come.
-- G. M. Trevelyan

Publicly inconsolable about the fact that racism continues, these activists seem privately terrified that it has abated.
--Dinesh D'Souza

Everybody has asked the question. . ."What shall we do with the Negro?" I have had but one answer from the beginning. Do nothing with us! Your doing with us has already played the mischief with us. Do nothing with us! If the apples will not remain on the tree of their own strength, if they are wormeaten at the core, if they are early ripe and disposed to fall, let them fall! I am not for tying or fastening them on the tree in any way, except by nature's plan, and if they will not stay there, let them fall. And if the Negro cannot stand on his own legs, let him fall also. All I ask is, give him a chance to stand on his own legs! Let him alone!
--Frederick Douglass

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
-- C. S. Lewis

...mercy to the guilty is cruelty to the innocent...
--Adam Smith

Examine the records of history, recollect what has happened within the circle of your own experience, consider with attention what has been the conduct of almost all the greatly unfortunate, either in private or public life, whom you may have either read of, or hear of, or remember, and you will find that the misfortunes of by far the greater part of them have arisen from their not knowing when they were well, when it was proper for them to set still and to be contented.
--Adam Smith

The quality of ideas seems to play a minor role in mass movement leadership. What counts is the arrogant gesture, the complete disregard of the opinion of others, the singlehanded defiance of the world.
--Eric Hoffer

There are many who find a good alibi far more attractive than an achievement. For an achievement does not settle anything permanently. We still have to prove our worth anew each day: we have to prove that we are as good today as we were yesterday. But when we have a valid alibi for not achieving anything we are fixed, so to speak, for life.
--Eric Hoffer

A ruling intelligentsia, whether in Europe, Asia or Africa, treats the masses as raw material to be experimented on, processed, and wasted at will.
--Eric Hoffer

The intellectuals and the young, booted and spurred, feel themselves born to ride us.
--Eric Hoffer

Nowhere at present is there such a measureless loathing of their country by educated people as in America.
--Eric Hoffer

From my earliest childhood I have been toiling & wearing my heart out for other people, who took all I could do & suffer for them as no more than their just dues.
--John Randolph

. . .time misspent and faculties mis-employed, and senses jaded by labor, or impaired by excess, cannot be recalled any more than that freshness of the heart, before it has become aware of the deceits of others, and of its own.
--John Randolph

Alas, how many have been persecuted for the wrong of having been right?
--Jean-Baptiste Say

To put meaning in one's life may end in madness, But life without meaning is the torture
Of restlessness and vague desire-- It is a boat longing for the sea and yet afraid.

=============================================
The Liberal Welfare State

The 1996 welfare reform bill changed the way government treated welfare. But last week the Left reverted back to the liberal welfare state in the “stimulus” bill. Hidden in the bill was a massive increase in welfare spending. While the 1996 reforms gave states more money if they moved people OFF welfare, the new policy gives states more money if more people stay ON welfare.

Here are the facts on the new welfare policies in this bill:

• Total welfare spending in the bill for programs providing cash, food, housing, and medical care to the poor is over $260 billion or roughly one third the cost of the bill. This represents about $6,700 in new welfare spending for every poor person in the United States.

• But that is just the cost for the first two years. The "stimulus" bill hides the real cost behind a budgetary gimmick that pretends all the new welfare spending will end in two years, even though clearly much of the new welfare spending is intended and designed to be permanent.

• The added cost is another half trillion dollars. The overall 10 year cost of the "stimulus" bill in welfare spending alone will be nearly $800 billion. This new spending amounts to around $22,000 for every poor person in the U.S

This bill has so much welfare money in it, it’s no wonder they had to give an incentive to states to keep people on welfare—that’s the only way they could spend all the money!

The bill contains expansions to food stamps, the earned income tax credit, the refundable child credit, Medicaid eligibility standards, Pell grants, and Title I education grants. But probably most disconcerting is President Obama's "Make Work Pay" refundable tax credit, which will provide up to $500 in cash to low income adults who pay no income taxes, including able-bodied adults without dependent children. This policy is designed solely to redistribute wealth from taxpayers (middle and upper class individuals) to low-income individuals.

It seems some bad ideas never die, and the welfare state is certainly one of them. Before 1996 the government heaped benefits on low-income individuals, crippling them in a cycle of dependency, and providing no incentives for state and local governments to help their citizens get jobs. And with last week’s bill, it seems we are turning back the clock and reinstating these failed policies again.

For more information about how the "stimulus" bill abolished welfare reform and adds new welfare spending, click here.

Think long and hard when you listen to Obama

The next time our President is spouting doom, think long and hard about something one of his predecessors said; "“I appealed to your best hopes, not your worst fears, to your confidence, rather than your doubts.”(Ronald Reagan).

Do you think such a concept is even comprehensible to the collectivist's sheople?

They should have just cut us checks - imagine the stimulus

Between the "bailout" and the "stimulus" (porkulus) Uncle Sugar has committed to spend 1.4 TRILLION dollars in less than a year.  Now if the math isn't too fuzzy, given about 300 million citizens that's about $4600 per person. If you divided only by those who actually payroll taxes taken from them (138 million in 2007) it would be about $10,000 per person.  If you divided it only by those who actually PAY taxes (95.5 million) the tax payers would each receive about $14,600.

Imagine the stimulus.  That would never work for the collectivists though.   For 2 simple reasons.

1. They just KNOW that they, the collectivist politicrats, can spend YOUR MONEY so much better than your own ignorant unwashed self.
2. They just KNOW that people who don't pay for their boondoggles deserve YOUR MONEY so much more than you do.

Take back the country.  Vote only for Constitutional originalist, libertarian, conservative people to represent you.  Until we run the political class out of power they will continue to attack you American Freedom

Missing Soldier (son of our friend) update

Pasted from an email update. Please continue to pray and if you can help in any to spread this around, please do.
=======================
I wanted to give you a heads-up that a friend on one of my national forums had this to report this morning:

I wanted to let you know the radio station I listen to out of Fayetteville announcement about your nephew several times in a two hour period. It was announced about every 30 min during one of their most popular shows. So they are really getting the word out about him. :) So that is good hopefully someone will find him soon.

There are a few people living in that general area that are going to the blog and checking for updates. If the police give you any details at all that I can post, it would be great. It would help to have as many eyes there as possible.

Here is the link, with updated pictures:

Network Member Nephew Missing in NC - PLEASE HELP!

Dear Friends: If you live near the Fort Bragg area of North Carolina, you may be able to help. My nephew, Joseph Putnam, who has been stationed at Fort Bragg for Airborne School, has apparently been abducted and forced to drain his bank account through ATM machines. Someone has continued to drain the account and Joseph is officially missing as of Tuesday, Feb. 10 at approximately 3:00 am.

Help us locate him, if you can, by keeping an eye out for him. The Fayetteville Police can be contacted in case you see him at 910-433-1530. Joseph is the older boy in the above picture; he is about 5 feet 10 inches and weighs about 170 pounds -- blue eyes and a distinct Arkansas accent to his speech.

One unidentified white male and one unidentified black male were seen with him. I will update as I can. My brother is distraught, so any help at all is deeply appreciated. Thanks, and God Bless.

Too much "white guilt"?

I think only posers with too much money and/or time on their hands can suffer significantly from such. The article below was submitted by a reader and attributed to Tom Adkins. It appears to have run in a Philadelphia paper.
=======================
Tom Adkins

There go my fellow conservatives, glumly shuffling along, depressed by the election aftermath. Not me. I'm virtually euphoric. Don't get me wrong. I'm not thrilled with America's flirtation with neosocialism. But there's a massive silver lining in the magical clouds that lofted Barack Obama to the presidency. For today, without a shred of intellectually legitimate opposition, I can loudly proclaim to America:

The Era of White Guilt is over.

This seemingly impossible event occurred because the vast majority of white Americans didn't give a fluff about skin color and enthusiastically pulled the voting lever for a black man. Not just any black man. A very liberal black man who spent his early career race-hustling banks, praying in a racist church for 20 years, and actively working with America-hating domestic terrorists. Yet white Americans made Barack Obama their leader. Therefore, as of Nov. 4, 2008, white guilt is dead.

So today, I'm feeling a little "uppity," if you will. For more than a century, the millstone of white guilt hung around our necks, retribution for slave-owning predecessors. In the 1960s, American liberals began yanking that millstone while sticking a fork in the eye of black Americans, exacerbating the racial divide to extort a socialist solution to the country's problems. But if a black man can become president, exactly what significant barrier is left? The election of Barack Obama destroys the validation of liberal white guilt. The dragon is hereby slain.

So today, I'm feeling a little "uppity," if you will. From this day forward, my tolerance level for having my skin color hustled is exactly ZERO. No more Rev. Jeremiah Wright's "God Damn America," Al Sharpton's Church of Perpetual Victimization, or Jesse Jackson's rainbow racism. Cornel West? You're a fraud. All those "black studies" programs must now teach kids to thank Whitey. And I want that on the final.

Congressional Black Caucus? Irrelevant. U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters (D., Calif.)? Shut up. ACORN? Outlawed. Black Panthers? Go home and pet your kitty. Black separatists? Find another nation that offers better dreams. To those Eurosnots who forged careers hating America? I'm still waiting for the first black French president.

No more quotas. No more handouts. No more complaining that "the man" is keeping you down. "The man" is now black.

It's time to toss that massive, obsolete race-hustle machine upon the heap of the other stupid '60s ideas. Drag it over there, right between free love and cop-killing. Careful, don't trip on streaking. Just dump it. And then wash your hands. It's filthy.

Obama's ascension also creates another gargantuan irony. How can liberals sell American racism, class envy and unfairness when our new black president and his wife went to Ivy League schools, got high-paying jobs, became millionaires, bought a mansion, and are now moving to the White House? How unfair is that? Now, like a delicious O. Henry tale, Obama's spread-the-wealth campaign rendered itself moot by its own victory! America is officially a meritocracy. Obama's election has validated American conservatism.

So ... Wham!!!

That's the sound of my foot kicking the door shut on the era of white guilt. The rites have been muttered, the carcass lowered, dirt shoveled, and tombstone erected. Dead and buried.

In January, 2007 when the minimum wage was increased from $5.15 to $7.25, Pelosi had American Samoa exempted from the increase so Del Monte would Not have to pay the higher wage. This would make Del Monte products less
Expensive than their competition's.

Last week when the huge bailout bill was passed, Pelosi added an earmark To the final bill adding $33 million dollars for an 'economic development Credit in American Samoa'.

Pelosi has called the Bush Administration "CORRUPT" ??

How do you spell "HYPOCRISY" ?

The truth is in the joke

Can you find it?
================
Jesus and Satan were having an ongoing argument about who was better on his computer. They had been going at it for days, and God was tired of hearing all of the bickering. Finally God said, "Cool it. I am going to set up a test that will run two hours and I will judge who does the better job."

So down Satan and Jesus sat at the keyboards and typed away. They moused. They did spreadsheets. They wrote reports. They sent faxes. They sent e-mail. They sent out e-mail with attachments. They downloaded. They did some genealogy reports. They made cards. They did every known job.

About ten minutes before their time was up, lightning flashed across the sky, thunder rolled, the rain poured, and, of course, the electricity went off. Satan stared at his blank screen and screamed every curse word known in the underworld.

Jesus just sighed. The electricity finally flickered back on, and each of them rebooted their computers. Satan started searching frantically, screaming "It's gone! It's all gone! I lost everything when the power went out!"

Meanwhile, Jesus quietly started printing out all of his files from the past two hours. Satan observed this and became very irate: "Wait! He must have cheated. How did he do that?"

God shrugged and said, "Jesus saves."
